About Jackson Lake, LAC

Counseling for adults in-person in Little Rock and online across Arkansas.

Hi, I'm Jackson Lake. I'm a Licensed Associate Counselor who works with adults who have ongoing challenges with depression and anxiety. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and depressed and start facilitating positive change.

My Journey To Becoming A Therapist

My own growth through personal life struggles is what helps me relate so deeply with clients.

Taking on the role of a therapist has been a journey that goes beyond just understanding human resilience—it's about forging genuine connections. Engaging in this process has taught me the value of self-reflection, prompting a closer look at my own beliefs and biases. It's shown me the significance of building a therapeutic alliance based on trust, respect, and a steadfast commitment to ethical principles. This experience has not only deepened my appreciation for the strength of the human spirit but has also highlighted the crucial role that ethical integrity plays in fostering meaningful relationships with those in my care.

My life experiences led me to become the therapist I am today.

Helping People Gives My Life Meaning

Being a therapist is fulfilling. I love guiding people towards figuring stuff out and watching their lives flourish. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is knowing that I had a part in helping someone else transform their life. I am committed to facilitating positive change.

I Have Empathy For Others And Bring Warmth And Understanding To Sessions

I have a natural ability to:

  • Understand people's experiences
  • Uncover what's under the surface
  • Be flexible on the path of discovering what's going on
  • Accept people for who they are and in their current life circumstances

People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can sit with people, even when things feel dark or hopeless.

Our Sessions Are Focused On You

Sessions will provide you with the space to be in touch with yourself. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals and focus on yourself without feeling selfish.

It's important to me to provide a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and stay open to any feedback and questions you may have. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to counseling. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

As A Therapist, I Embrace The Following Philosophies

  • I believe you are worthy of love and care.
  • I believe there is no shame in asking for help.
  • I believe therapy works when both of us are committed to your healing.
  • I believe loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all, is one of the most courageous things we can do.
  • I believe we can stop feeling shame when we share our story with someone who can hear it with empathy and understanding.

My Professional Background

I've been working in private practice since May 2023, following my graduation in December 2022 from UCA. I work with a diverse range of adult clients—from those dealing with depression, anxiety, and relationship struggles to neurodivergent individuals seeking support.

My therapeutic style is rooted in existential and person-centered approaches, putting a strong emphasis on building a solid therapeutic relationship. Despite my relatively recent entry into private practice, I'm dedicated to providing long-term talk therapy, believing in the power of genuine connections to drive lasting change.

Beyond the fee-based services, I also engage in pro-bono work, particularly with clients facing financial constraints. My journey as a therapist has been shaped by the profound relationships I've built, and I'm passionate about supporting my clients on their unique paths to healing and self-discovery.
